Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Scarborough, Maine. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy of accounts receivable processes.

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial procedures.

- Apply payments to customer accounts promptly and correctly through cash application processes.

- Handle commercial collections to resolve outstanding balances and maintain positive client relationships.

- Prepare and issue invoices, ensuring billing accuracy and adherence to company guidelines.

- Monitor and reconcile cash activity to maintain accurate records of financial transactions.

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable balances.

- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize billing and collection processes.

- Assist in generating reports related to accounts receivable and cash flow.

- Maintain detailed and organized documentation for audits and financial reviews.

- Provide exceptional customer service to address inquiries related to billing and payments. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable processes, including billing and collection.

- Proficiency in cash applications and managing payment transactions.

- Familiarity with commercial collections and resolving outstanding balances.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile accounts accurately.

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.

- Ability to generate and analyze financial reports.

- Organizational skills to maintain thorough documentation and support audits.

- Knowledge of industry-specific practices in energy or natural resources is a plus.
