We are looking for an Echocardiogram Technologist (Echo Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Scarborough, ME. The right Echo Tech must have 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

As an Echo Tech, you will be responsible for operating the cardiac ultrasound machine, ensuring accurate images, preparing and caring for patients, and passing images to physicians for interpretation.

  • Educate patients and/or their family regarding procedures performed.
  • Demonstrate competence in performance of echo cardiographic studies.
  • Consistently perform quality Doppler and color Doppler exams.
  • Acquire quality stress echo and dobutamine images according to physician and benchmark standards.
  • Perform quality transesophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectations.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of cardiac disease processes and acquired images.
  • Report findings or concerns to the reading physician for prompt interpretation.
  • Perform all related processing required for each completed study.
  • Maintain equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure and reporting problems appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Use the McKesson PACS system.
Requirements
  • 1 year of echo experience.
  • BLS or equivalent.
  • ARDMS‑RDCS, CCI‑RS National Certification or equivalent.
  • State‑specific licensing when required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods and bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
