Associate Attorney – Foreclosure Practice
Our client, a recognized leader in mortgage default legal services, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join their growing team focused on mortgage default and foreclosure litigation. WhatYou’ll Do
- Legal Document Management: Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, motions, and other foreclosure‑related filings to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Case Oversight: Handle all stages of foreclosure proceedings, including contested cases, litigation, and post‑judgment actions.
- Client Representation: Advocate for clients during mediations, hearings, and depositions—both virtually and in person—while maintaining a professional and persuasive presence.
- Title Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews of title histories, property records, and supporting documentation to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing timely updates, strategic advice, and clear explanations of case progress.
- Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with paralegals, support staff, and fellow attorneys to ensure efficient case flow and adherence to firm standards. - Compliance &
Risk Management:
Stay current on foreclosure laws, court procedures, and regulatory changes to mitigate risk and maintain compliance. - Special Projects: Participate in firm initiatives, process improvements, and other assignments as needed.
- Education & Licensing: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; active membership in good standing with the Maine Bar.
- Experience: Prior exposure to foreclosure, real estate, or litigation is preferred, but strong candidates with transferable skills will be considered.
- Skills: Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail for reviewing complex documentation.
- Professional Attributes: Commitment to client service and ethical practice.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team‑oriented environment.
- Proactive approach to problem‑solving and case management.
