Facilities Technician
to join us in
Scarborough, ME!
The Facilities Technician supports site operations through preventive maintenance, chemical wastewater treatment, and facility upkeep. This role manages maintenance tasks using Limble software, performs off-site procurement, and creates technical drawings using CAD tools. A strong focus on safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency is essential to ensure reliable facility performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Planned PM’s 40%.
- Unplanned PMs 20%.
- Chemical Wastewater Treatment 40%.
- Off-site travel, such as Home Depot or a Machine Shop.
- Chemical Wastewater Treatment.
- Keeping track of the maintenance software “Limble”.
- Make up small blueprints or drawings using CAD software.
- 1-3 years of electrical experience.
- 1-3 years of plumbing experience.
- 1-3 years of experience working with a maintenance tracking software.
- Need to have some critical thinking and organization skills.
- Need to be able to work in “hot” work areas or hazardous locations.
- Need to be able to use a computer and use programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook email, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Need to be familiar with the LOTO process.
- 1-2 years of any type of pump rebuilds or repairs.
- High School Diploma (Minimum)
- Any 1-year certificate for any trade programs (Preferred)
- 1-2 years in industrial maintenance
- 1-2 years as an electrician
- 1-2 years as a plumber
- 1-2 years as a welder
- 1-3 years as a machinist
- Need to be able to lift at least 50 LBS, sometimes more.
- Need to be able to work in hot and cold environments.
- Need to be able to handle and work around many different types of chemicals.
- Need to be able to handle and work around hazardous materials such as arsenic and aluminum dust.
- Need to be able to work in tight or “confined” spaces.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Works in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp.
- Stand for LONG PERIODS of time.
- Lift up to 40 lbs. consistently.
- Work with hazardous chemicals daily.
- Work in a cleanroom environment.
- Must be able to read and comprehend directions.
- Must be able to hear and speak to communicate with co-workers. Accommodations can be made for emergency alerts for any deaf employees.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.
Work may require out-of-town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
