Supplier Development Quality Engineer
The Supplier Development Quality Engineer is responsible for driving supplier quality performance, continuous improvement initiatives, and risk mitigation activities across the supply base. This role partners with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure products and processes meet quality, regulatory, and business requirements. The position focuses on supplier development, corrective actions, supplier performance monitoring, and quality system compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support supplier onboarding activities, including supplier qualification, validation, and readiness assessments
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve process capability, manufacturing performance, and product quality
- Monitor supplier quality metrics including defect rates, yield performance, and supplier quality trends
- Conduct data analysis to identify quality issues, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Investigate supplier-related defects, incoming quality concerns, and field-related failures
- Manage supplier nonconformance processes, including containment, corrective actions, and issue closure
- Drive supplier corrective and preventive actions and verify effectiveness of implemented solutions
- Participate in root cause investigations and cross-functional problem-solving activities
- Support supplier performance reviews and track progress of improvement initiatives
- Assist in the development and maintenance of inspection procedures and acceptance criteria
- Optimize incoming inspection strategies through risk-based decision making
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams on supplier-related quality matters
- Support supplier change management activities, including risk assessments, approvals, and implementation reviews
- Communicate supplier quality concerns and escalation status to key stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Development, or a related field
- Knowledge of supplier quality management principles and quality improvement methodologies
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive action processes
- Ability to analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement process improvements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality systems
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and quality reporting tools
- Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of supplier audits and supplier qualification activities
- Experience with risk management and change control processes
- Understanding of inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and incoming quality programs
- Exposure to CAPA, nonconformance management, and supplier performance improvement initiatives

Pay Range: $30/hr to $40/hr
