Position Overview
Sam’s Club # Payne Rd, Scarborough, ME – Member Services Associate
Responsibilities- Provide member service and maintain the checkout area.
- Resolve member issues and concerns, promoting Sam’s Club products and services.
- Guide and support members regarding self‑service technology, process purchases, and assist with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures.
- Follow company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps.
- Handle merchandise properly, correct and report unsafe situations to facility management.
- Maintain entrance areas: acknowledge members, verify membership cards, identify member needs, locate merchandise, and assist with purchasing decisions and transporting items.
- Zone the area, arrange and organize merchandise, and maintain a safe shopping environment.
- Maintain exit areas, review member receipts, acknowledge members, and identify member needs.
- Secure and safeguard Sam’s Club assets and property, observing and communicating potential criminal activity as per company policies.
- Maintain paperwork, logs, and other required documentation; execute emergency response procedures and ensure compliance with company security and safety practices.
- Assist with training Member Frontline Services associates on company processes, procedures, new technology, tool functionality, and new program roll‑out training.
- Provide continuous learning and process improvement opportunities.
- Ensure area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies by properly handling returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, implementing action plans and using the Open Door Policy.
- Complete work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and business partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicate progress; recommend improvement opportunities; and adapt to change and feedback.
- Work as a team, build strong and trusting relationships, communicate with impact and energy, and mentor others.
- Act with integrity, maintain high standards of ethics and compliance, model Walmart values, hold oneself and others accountable, and support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.
- Serve customers and members, deliver results with the customer first, make decisions based on reliable information, balance short and long‑term priorities, and consider the impact on the team.
- Strive for excellence by displaying curiosity, taking calculated risks, demonstrating courage and resilience, driving continuous improvements, and using new technology and skills.
- Retail experience including operating front end equipment (e.g., cash register).
- Experience working with mobile retail applications.
