Journeyman Plumber

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber with extensive experience in mechanical piping systems for large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects. This position requires expertise in the installation and maintenance of hydronic, heating, cooling, and process piping systems. The successful candidate will be adept at working in mechanical rooms and managing complex piping layouts alongside multiple trades on demanding job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Install mechanical piping systems, including hydronic heating, chilled water, steam, condensate return, and compressed air systems.
  • Work in mechanical rooms installing boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and associated piping systems.
  • Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of piping systems using materials such as steel, copper, PVC, and PEX.
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, blueprints, and coordinated BIM layouts.
  • Cut, thread, groove, solder, braze, and assemble piping systems to specification.
  • Align piping systems with HVAC, electrical, and structural components in tight commercial environments.
  • Perform pressure testing, flushing, and system startup support.
  • Ensure all installations comply with project specifications, codes, and safety standards (OSHA).
  • Troubleshoot system issues and make field adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other trades to meet project requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Journeyman Level Plumbing Experience (No License Required).
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical piping or commercial plumbing systems.
  • Strong experience in mechanical room installations and large-diameter piping.
  • Ability to read and work from isometric drawings and mechanical plans.
  • Proficient with pipe fitting techniques such as threading and grooving; welding exposure is a plus.
  • Familiarity with commercial construction workflow and multi-trade coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with pipe welding and pipe fitting.
  • Knowledge of materials such as cast iron, steel, copper, PVC, and PEX.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and brazing techniques.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
