Accountant, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant

Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner, the global leader of automation systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for an Accountant to join our fast paced, customer orientated team in our Schaumburg, IL location. The successful candidate will assist the Finance department with the financial recording, reconciliation and reporting of Novaspect operations as assigned.

• Support month end, quarter end and year end closing activities
• Prepare and post Journal Entries
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare reports detailing monthly expenses by cost center
• File monthly state sales and use tax returns
• Consolidation, intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Analyze revenue and cost by business unit to ensure financial accuracy and research discrepancies or anomalies
• Review, investigate, and correct errors or inconsistencies in the financial entries, documents and reports
• Assist in Audit activities
• Provide day to day support to operations as needed
• Assist with special projects, year-end activities and related duties

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Experience level: new graduates up to two years of experience preferred
• CPA a plus
• High computer application literacy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel a must
• IFS business system familiarity a plus

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication skills and ability to maintain high level of customer service and tact
• Professional appearance and excellent analytical, oral and written skills
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment and be resourceful
• Ability to manage time well and handle multiple priorities maintaining a positive attitude and composure; meets commitments and responds to requests for service and assistance
• Proven ability to build and support teamwork; exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; contribute to building a positive team spirit

• Ability to work extended hours on a computer

• Salary Range: $65,000 - 80,000
• Potential Bonus: 5%
