The Supply Chain and Procurement organization is a fast‑paced and dynamic environment, delivering best‑in‑class communications equipment and solutions for customers around the world. This role provides essential business and data analysis expertise in the areas of strategic sourcing and category management with strong quantitative data‑management experience.
It transforms raw procurement data into actionable insights that support company and department objectives, interfaces with and fosters a collaborative environment with cross‑functional teams, and requires exceptional verbal and written communication, strong organizational and time‑management skills.
NOTE:
This is a hybrid role – the candidate must reside in the Chicagoland area with the ability to work from the office as needed.
The Procurement Business Analyst is a critical, high‑impact role that bridges the gap between procurement operations, data analytics, and strategic business goals. This individual is responsible for transforming raw procurement data into actionable insights that drive cost savings, mitigate risk, and optimize the procure‑to‑pay (P2P) lifecycle. The role involves analyzing complex datasets, identifying spending trends, monitoring supplier performance, and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical problem‑solver with a strong understanding of procurement processes and a talent for communicating complex information to diverse stakeholders.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop, maintain and enhance procurement dashboards and reports (e.g., in Power BI or Tableau) to track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as cost savings, supplier performance, contract compliance, and spend under management.
- Conduct in‑depth analysis to identify cost‑saving opportunities, sourcing efficiencies, and areas for supplier consolidation.
- Strategic Sourcing & Category Support
- Provide analytical support for RFP, RFQ and RFI processes, helping to evaluate supplier bids and total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Conduct market intelligence research to identify supplier trends, commodity price fluctuations, and potential risks, providing valuable insights to category managers.
- Process Improvement
- Analyze and map existing procurement processes (e.g., requisitioning, purchasing, invoicing) to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to help gather requirements for and implement improvements to procurement systems (e.g., ERP, P2P platforms).
- Supplier & Contract Management
- Develop and monitor supplier performance scorecards, analyzing data to ensure suppliers are meeting contractual obligations and performance targets.
- Analyze contract compliance, identifying off‑contract spending and working with stakeholders to drive adherence to preferred supplier agreements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the primary analytical partner for the procurement team, finance, and key business departments.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and compelling recommendations for non‑technical audiences to support decision‑making.
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or procurement role.
