Encore Village is currently hiring for a Lifestyles Fine Arts Specialist. The Lifestyles Fine Arts Specialist works as part of the Lifestyles Team to provide programs and services that promote Resident engagement and enhance quality of life with a focus on fine arts programming, including music, drama, visual arts and other forms of creative expression. Promotes and supports creative expressive activities across the continuum.
Responsibilities:- Creates, plans and executes fine arts programs and experiences based on Resident interests and departmental goals.
- Works with AL and Briarwood Managers
- Provides support for creative Resident led activities as needed, including guidance, technology support and communications.
- Facilitates arts related large all-campus special events, outings and other programs across the continuum.
- Schedules and publicizes events utilizing community communication app.
- Contributes to and assists with planning and production of weekly calendars, newsletter and other Lifestyles publications.
- Coordinates with and supports other Lifestyles associates in program development and/or implementation, including cross‑continuum.
- Plan, assist and lead various special fine arts/ performing opportunities throughout the year on and off campus including holiday programs, community performances, etc.
- Trained on all AV and technical support to assist guests/speakers/performers, prior to and during events, ensuring proper set‑up and functioning of needed equipment based on the needs of the speaker/event.
- Works with Lifestyles Media and Technology Manager to develop content for Social Media and Studio projects. Trained as back‑up to in‑house TV programming and promotes fine arts related Resident content.
- Manages the Arts & Crafts Program including:
- Maintaining Equipment and Supplies
- Ordering needed supplies for programs
- Working with Resident Committees and Volunteers to develop programming ideas
- Publishing a monthly Calendar of Arts and Crafts Events
- Utilizing outside resources and vendors to develop new and innovative program opportunities
- Organizing and support of Craft Committee special events and projects
- Management of all aspects of IL outings, providing training and oversight to outings hosted by Circle Coordinator and other team members as needed. Includes opportunities for Arts and or Cultural experiences at least monthly
- Trained as back‑up driver for Lifestyles Bus/Van as needed.
- Assists with evaluation of performing groups
- Assists in maintaining department organizational systems, i.e., databases, supplies as assigned.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
- Demonstrate a passion for engaging the senior population and promoting the benefits of Fine Arts Engagement.
- Have an appreciation of aging issues, particularly in a residential community setting with a focus on innovative lifestyle programs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
- Desire to serve the Senior community
- Ability to effectively communicate with Residents, Volunteers, Vendors, and Associates in individual and group settings
- Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration
- Computer skills with ability to utilize a variety of apps to support programming
- Demonstration of functional skills/ leadership in at least one fine arts program specialty:
Music, Drama, Visual Arts/ Crafts, Dance. - Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to network and build relationships.
- Ability to effectively utilize a variety of state‑of‑the‑art computer applications and AV/technical equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License with ability to drive community bus/van on occasion.
- Ability to teach new processes/ skills to residents and volunteers.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College preferred.
- One year of hands‑on experience through jobs or internships in the formation of new program concepts and operations.
- Program, hospitality or special event coordination experience.
- Experience working with Seniors or other persons with varied cognitive and functional abilities.
