Customer Service Representative (Surety) - National Accounts

We are looking for a client focused Customer Service Representative to join our National Accounts Department. This full‑time position will work from our headquarters in Schaumburg, IL and will be eligible for a hybrid in‑office and work‑from‑home environment after an introductory training period.

Base pay range
: $46,000 - $49,000 per year.

Qualifications
:

  • At least 3 years of office‑based professional customer service experience, preferably in a customs broker or insurance‑based environment.
  • High degree of accuracy, excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting National Accounts clients around bond activities.
  • Focusing on customs bond support.
  • Handling new bond requests/insufficiencies, quoting bond rates/premiums and processing fees.
  • Processing bond termination/cancellation requests (STBs and CTBs).
  • Handling bond rider requests and quoting applicable premiums.
  • Managing corporate bonds, reviewing and updating bond lists as needed.
  • Answering general bond questions from clients regarding bond forms, proprietary software (Merlin), rate/premium queries, etc.
  • Other client and team support actions as assigned.

A P&C insurance license will be required within the first 120 days of employment. Avalon will provide training and cover associated expenses.
