Our laboratory located in Schaumburg IL (a suburb of Chicago) is looking to add a Dermatopathologist with General Sign-Out to their team of 11 Pathologists. We are seeking a candidate that is AP/CP and Dermatopathology. The core derm specimens case work in the lab includes cytopathology, genitourinary pathology, GYN and gastrointestinal. This role joins a great team and an outstanding support staff at an industry‑leading company.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material
- Diagnosis to include gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation and electronic release of reviewed cases
- Participate as an active medical member of the department with substantial diagnostic case responsibilities
- Participate in peer consults and continuing education
- Perform quality control and assurance
- Interact with ordering physicians who request to speak with a pathologist
- Provide expertise and help to technologists and technicians to resolve problems
- Participate in departmental professional Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities e.g. Pathologist Competency Assessment Program
- Doctor of Medicine
- AP/CP Board Certification
- Board Certification/Board eligibility in Dermatopathology
- Active unrestricted licensure for IL
- Peripheral smears preferred but not required.
- Experience in a large biopsy or cytology lab preferred
- Fulfill responsibilities listed in CLIA 88 if required
- Open to flexible day shift hours
