The College of Pharmacy at Roosevelt University invites applications and nominations for the following administrative position, and reports to the Director of Experiential Education.
This position provides a unique opportunity for involvement in the ongoing development of an academic program that delivers experiential education throughout a three-year doctor of pharmacy program.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Required
An earned degree (BS or ParmD) in Pharmacy.
Required to have access to reliable transportation to visit experiential training sites In metropolitan Chicago and Illinois.
Demonstrated experience to help identify preceptors and practice sites, determining the training needs of the preceptors, and maintaining the academic standards of the experiential education program and sites consistent with ACPE accreditation requirements, as well as Illinois State Board of Pharmacy Internship requirements.
Ability to work with the Experiential Education Specialists.
Previous experience involved in delivering educational content through Experiential Education Seminars. This individual will be a member of various committees at the College of Pharmacy.
Strong networking abilities working with various constituents of the professional practice communities of pharmacy, medicine, nursing and other health professions, current and future supporters of the College, and potential employers of graduates.
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
A positive and professional demeanor is a must.

Preferred QualificationsA minimum of 5 years experience in various pharmacy settings and preceptor experience preferred.
Candidates should be active in professional organizations, appreciate the role for interprofessional education, possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and group communication skills, and possess the ability to collaborate with faculty and academic leadership.
Working ConditionsNormal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required.
Dutyand Responsibility
Preceptor training and site development, oversight of student placement and supervision, assessing educational outcomes of the experiential program, conducting both preceptor and periodic CQI site evaluations, evaluating the effectiveness of the various Experiential Education programs and recommending and implementing improvements.
