As an Account Manager, you will support automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 customers by managing semiconductor product programs, coordinating across suppliers, and ensuring all customer requirements are met. This role requires strong communication, program management, and business acumen. Travel is required a few times per month.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Management
- Manage full customer program lifecycle: design, PPAP, safe launch, SOP, PCN, allocation, EOL.
- Hold high‑level technical discussions with customer engineering teams.
- Gather and manage program information to support supply/demand planning and new business.
- Maintain program data in Excel and PowerPoint; provide monthly automotive market updates.
- Stay informed on supplier/customer market trends, including mergers and acquisitions.
Supply Chain Management
- Partner with Material Planners on quotes, forecasts, customer orders, and supplier lead times.
- Coordinate trucking, expediting, push‑outs, and PO cancellations as needed.
- Manage supply/demand alignment, aging inventory, and line‑down situations.
- Understand NA automotive logistics: WMS, labeling, barcodes, and traceability requirements.
- Lead RFQ negotiations and cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Analyze costs, resales, profitability, and customer usage.
- Negotiate annual price reductions and prepare accurate customer pricing data in Excel.
Reporting & Forecasting
- Provide timely daily/weekly activity updates.
- Monitor POS, backlog, and inventory to meet company targets.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual forecast updates with suppliers.
Quality Coordination
- Support PPAP, PCN, failure analysis, 8D, and other quality documentation.
- Collaborate with internal quality teams to address customer requirements and timelines.
- Assist with specification exceptions, material verification, and traceability management.
Communication
- Summarize business opportunities and issues clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Respond promptly to customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Work collaboratively with global teams, including frequent communication with Japan.
Other Requirements
- Travel throughout the Midwest, East Coast, and Mexico as needed.
- Flexibility for additional hours based on customer/supplier demands.
- 3–5+ years semiconductor industry experience, ideally supporting automotive customers.
- Strong understanding of distributor roles within the semiconductor and automotive sectors.
- Experience managing automotive electronics programs or components.
- Strong risk‑management capability aligned with QCDD standards.
- Excellent communication, organization, and timeline management.
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables) and program data management.
