Civil Engineer – Land Development | Schaumburg, IL | Mid-Level (3–8 Years)

About the Role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer with 3 to 8 years of experience to join a multidisciplinary engineering team in Schaumburg, IL. This position focuses on land development projects across sectors including education, commercial, municipal, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate is proficient in Civil 3D, has strong communication skills, and thrives in collaborative project environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Design land development systems: drainage, stormwater, water, sanitary sewer, roadways, and parking.

  • Prepare exhibits and construction documents using Civil 3D.

  • Utilize stormwater management software for project permitting and design.

  • Interpret reports, maps, drawings, and data for project planning.

  • Conduct site investigations and provide on-site construction support.

  • Ensure project designs meet budgets, schedules, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional project teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • 3–8 years of relevant civil/site development experience.

  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and design-related software tools.

  • Ability to interpret codes and construction drawings.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Willingness to mentor junior team members.

  • EIT certification preferred; PE licensure a plus.

  • Familiarity with surveying, permitting, and site construction.

  • U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship available).
