Responsibilities
  • Lead concept generation, design, verification, and qualification of high‑speed IO products (112

    Gb and beyond).
  • Ensure product manufacturability and compliance with electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements.
  • Perform Design FMEA, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability, FEA analysis, and risk analysis.
  • Collaborate with marketing and customers to define functional requirements and assess technical risk.
  • Work with internal and external manufacturing disciplines (stamping, plating, molding, assembly) to optimize design for production processes.
  • Lead product design reviews and verify drawings for proper geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Coordinate with materials engineering to select metal and polymer materials based on performance, pricing, and sourcing.
  • Present product concepts to customers early in the development cycle and incorporate feedback into design.
  • Define product, application, and packaging specifications and verification/test plans.
  • Resolve first‑article inspection issues and support transition to manufacturing.
  • Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering for successful product launch.
  • Engage with global associates and provide mentorship as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of electromechanical design experience.
  • Preferred familiarity with high‑speed cable assembly and/or connector design.
  • Knowledge of signal‑integrity design and performance optimization.
  • Experience with industry standards and design for quality practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent coursework).
  • Proficiency in Solid Works, FEA simulation (ANSYS preferred), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and statistical engineering methods.
  • Ability to direct project activity and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with global customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Skill in prioritizing work and managing multiple simultaneous projects.
