Responsibilities- Lead concept generation, design, verification, and qualification of high‑speed IO products (112
Gb and beyond). - Ensure product manufacturability and compliance with electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements.
- Perform Design FMEA, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability, FEA analysis, and risk analysis.
- Collaborate with marketing and customers to define functional requirements and assess technical risk.
- Work with internal and external manufacturing disciplines (stamping, plating, molding, assembly) to optimize design for production processes.
- Lead product design reviews and verify drawings for proper geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Coordinate with materials engineering to select metal and polymer materials based on performance, pricing, and sourcing.
- Present product concepts to customers early in the development cycle and incorporate feedback into design.
- Define product, application, and packaging specifications and verification/test plans.
- Resolve first‑article inspection issues and support transition to manufacturing.
- Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering for successful product launch.
- Engage with global associates and provide mentorship as needed.
- 5+ years of electromechanical design experience.
- Preferred familiarity with high‑speed cable assembly and/or connector design.
- Knowledge of signal‑integrity design and performance optimization.
- Experience with industry standards and design for quality practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent coursework).
- Proficiency in Solid Works, FEA simulation (ANSYS preferred), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and statistical engineering methods.
- Ability to direct project activity and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication skills with global customers and internal stakeholders.
- Skill in prioritizing work and managing multiple simultaneous projects.
