Overview
Part‑time MRI Technologist – evenings in Schaumburg. Provide high‑quality diagnostic MRI studies under radiologist direction, maintaining a safe and positive imaging environment.
Position Highlights- Part‑time, 20 hours per week
- Monday‑Friday, 5:00‑9:00 pm
- Location:

- Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas
- Ensures proper MRI safety standards are met
- Ensures all ferromagnetic materials are located outside the scan room
- Able to explain correct emergency shutdown procedures
- Able to properly demonstrate fire and safety evacuations
- Patient transfer/transport equipment is checked for compliance with safe operational standards
- Operates required equipment necessary to produce scans using established guidelines and MRI protocols
- Completes necessary protocol ling tasks
- Performs ordered examinations according to written MRI protocols
- Properly identifies three unique identifiers
- Introduces patient using name and role title
- Explains procedure in laymen’s terms using educational/informational aids when necessary
- Allocates time for patient feedback and questions, ensuring all questions are addressed prior to exam start
- Verifies completion of MRI screening forms and validates information
- Starts IV access according to standard procedure and injects media under physician direction
- Selects appropriate IV site according to exam protocol
- Selects proper catheter or needle and introduces venipuncture following standard precaution guidelines
- Selects correct IV contrast and prepares correct amount for administration according to established protocols
- Selects appropriate injection parameters and monitors injection according to established guidelines
- Records injection amount, IV location and flow rate on correct documents
- Generates QA documentation when infiltration or reaction occurs
- Prepares and positions patient for procedure using established MRI protocols to achieve highest quality image
- Graduate of an accredited education program in MRI required
