Position: Urgent Care Technician or Medical Assistant - Immediate Care

Overview

Urgent Care Technician / Medical Assistant – Immediate Care located in Schaumburg, IL. Full‑time position (36 hrs per week) with a competitive hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Highlights
  • Full‑time (36 hrs). 8‑am to 8‑pm weekdays, 9‑am to 4‑pm weekends. Differential pay for nights and weekends.
  • Location:

    Schaumburg, IL – occasional travel to surrounding clinics may be required.
  • Shift pattern: 2‑3 weekday shifts per week and alternate‑weekend coverage.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver urgent care to ICC and Express Care patients under the direction of a RN, PA, NP or Physician.
  • Partner with RN to coordinate care, perform patient‑care tasks, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV insertion and removal, and other bedside procedures.
  • Receive and triage patients, assessing urgency and deciding appropriate site of care.
  • Assist providers with suturing, wound cleansing, dressing changes, orthopedic splints, temporary casting and other procedural set‑ups.
  • Assist in patient rounds, respond to calls, nurse and physician requests, and provide daily/weekly/monthly check‑lists.
  • Maintain inventory, keep rooms clean, restock supplies, manage waste and needle bins.
  • Document all care activities in EPIC, complete vital signs, weights, and procedure documentation, and participate in quality‑improvement initiatives.
  • Qualifications
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
    • EMT‑Paramedic certification required.
    • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
    • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification a plus.
    • Minimum 2 years acute‑care experience (ER, Immediate Care Center or ambulance).
    • At least 1–2 years experience starting IVs, drawing blood and administering injections.
    • Phlebotomy certification may be required within 6 months of employment.
    Compensation

    Base hourly rate ranges from $20.59 to $30.89 for EMT‑P, $21.43 to $23.63 for Medical Assistants, and $22.97 to $24.57 for Certified or Registered Medical Assistants. Shift differentials, bonuses and other incentives may be available.
