Behavior Technician - Entry Level, Company Paid RBT Certification

BY YOUR SIDE Behavioral Technician directs ABA therapy to children ages 2‑21 years old in both center and in‑home environments. Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Technician implements skill acquisition programs, behavior management protocols, collects data on target behaviors, and provides comprehensive ABA therapy. Duties include maintaining confidentiality, meeting caseload hours, traveling to client homes, and supporting team meetings.

Hours vary and may include evenings, weekends, or overtime.

Starting pay: $22/hr

Essential Functions,

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide direct 1:1 or small‑group therapy to children and young adults with autism following the Clinical Supervisor’s treatment plan.
  • Maintain targeted caseload hours and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Implement treatment plans across communication, social behavior, learner readiness, self‑care, replacement behavior, and behavior reduction domains.
  • Motivate clients by adapting activities to preferences.
  • Respond calmly and intentionally to challenging behavior as outlined in the individual Behavior Intervention Plan.
  • Assist with assessments (e.g., VBMAPP, ABLLS) under supervision and maintain accurate records through an online data‑collection platform.
  • Maintain order and safety within the therapy environment and support other personnel as required.
  • Participate in staff and team meetings, collaborate with multidisciplinary therapists, and complete training and assignments on time.
  • Perform daily center routines (opening/closing, cleaning, material preparation).
  • Ensure billing accuracy through session conversion within specified periods.
  • Provide toilet training and diaper changing when necessary.
  • Uphold BYS core principles, policies, and procedures.
Include Demonstrated Competencies And Physical, Mental, & Interpersonal Skills
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in psychology, communication disorders, education, or related field preferred).
  • High interest and willingness to learn about children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Eagerness to learn Applied Behavior Analysis and grow as a Behavior Technician.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies preferred.
  • Proactive, timely, professional communication with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work effectively with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent time‑management and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Professionalism through communication, timeliness, and preparedness.
  • Proficiency with iPad and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Environmental Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Reliable transportation for travel between therapy environments.
  • Ability to lift/pull/push/​move 10–25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Physical ability to kneel, bend, squat, crouch, twist, walk, sit, stand, and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Quick response required, including transitioning from seated to standing during emergencies.
  • Ability to assess safety factors in the environment.
  • Variable working hours may require evenings, weekends, or overtime.
  • Prolonged computer use and extended screen time.
  • Environment with elevated noise levels.
