Position OverviewPaylocity is an award‑winning provider of cloud‑based HR and payroll software solutions, offering a comprehensive platform that automates HR processes and supports talent management. The Support Specialist I serves as the front‑line, dedicated resource for client employee product users, receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving client requests to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. This role requires a blend of technical and non‑technical support skills, strong customer service, and critical thinking to troubleshoot and resolve inquiries across departments.
It is a 100% in‑office position based at our Schaumburg, IL location; remote or hybrid work is not available.
- Administer technical and non‑technical support, addressing client queries efficiently and professionally.
- Collaborate interdepartmentally to prioritize client needs, communicate project status, and manage timing expectations.
- Determine scope of client requirements, ensuring clear understanding of objectives.
- Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot and resolve client questions, aiming for prompt and accurate solutions.
- Collect relevant data, identify options, and recommend courses of action to meet client objectives.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring client satisfaction at all interactions.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1+ years demonstrated client/customer service experience.
- Intermediate computer skills with ability to use multiple resources during live calls.
- Comfort with web‑based applications.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Basic project‑management abilities for managing high‑volume client requests.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, particularly during open‑enrollment seasons.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Call center experience.
- Bi‑lingual fluency (Spanish & English).
- Knowledge of healthcare and welfare benefits concepts.
- Demonstrated high‑volume client first‑call resolution.

Compensationand Benefits
Pay range: $20 – $25/hr (base pay may vary). Full range of benefits includes medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) match, and other perks. This information is provided per relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the job location.
