Located in Schaumburg, Illinois, PLC is a leading provider of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) software for forensic crime laboratories. Our customers are law enforcement agencies and forensic labs across the United States.
Job OverviewA field support technician handles customer calls and emails, creates tickets, tests and troubleshoots software, and may work with network hosting. Technicians progress to advanced support with crystal reports, database issues (MSSQL, Oracle), MS Word templates, and technical troubleshooting. A project group also involves travel for on‑site implementation.
Key Responsibilities- Field calls and emails from law enforcement agencies and forensic labs.
- Create tickets and test software.
- Provide solutions for simple and complex issues.
- Maintain network hosting and support infrastructure.
- Advance to crystal reports and database troubleshooting after experience.
- Support on‑site implementation for new customers.
- Interest in forensic science.
- Strong self‑time management and ability to learn.
- Ambitious desire to solve technical puzzles.
- Seeking a long‑term career.
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience (required).
- SQL experience (preferred).
Full‑time, office‑only initially with possibility of hybrid training.
Schedule:
8‑hour shift (7:30‑4:30 or 8:30‑5:30, 1‑hour lunch);
Monday‑Friday, occasional weekends with notice. Travel up to 10% required.
