ABX Innovative Packaging Solutions is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging providing critical applications in healthcare, personal care, and food products. Our growing company is seeking a Slitter Operator for 2nd shift (4PM-2AM) in the Schaumburg, IL location.

• Standard Monday-Thursday schedule, with occasional Fridays, as needed.

• Safely load & unload mill rolls using the hoist system.
• Accurately pack and label finished products.
• Perform all necessary quality checks and document results.
• Operate and understand basic machine controls on at least one type slitter.
• Troubleshoot and correct basic line issues; may need assistance for more complex issues.
• Set razor knives to work order specified widths accurately and safely.
• Set and hook-up rewind arms and rider rolls to required roll width.
• Perform basic set-up of edge guide system and troubleshoot basic problems.
• Keep accurate records of basic operations including production, downtime, and waste.
• Fully understand and follow all ABX safety rules and policies.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as needed and directed by supervisor.
• Maintain housekeeping.

• Minimum 6 months as Operator in Training
• Basic understanding of JD Edwards system.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Capable of, and committed to, following the plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines, and ISO procedure.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Continuous learning expected.
• Able to work overtime as required.
