RN, Registered Nurse - Schaumburg - Radiation Oncology
Position Highlights- Full-time, 40 Hours/Week
- Hours:
Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00pm - NO EVENINGS OR WEEKENDS!

Provide nursing support activities (70%)
Direct nursing care and procedures: administering medications, dressing changes and wound care, skin care, administering oxygen and monitoring oxygen saturation, suctioning patients, trach care, mouth care, care of IVs and central lines (blood drawing, flushing of Hickman catheters, infuse-a-port, Groshong’s), venipuncture, bladder catheterization, assisting with various procedures; brachytherapy, etc.; assisting with physical examinations and on treatment examinations.
Provides direct nursing care utilizing scientific knowledge, nursing theory and nursing skills in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care of individualized patients.
Clinical staff supports oversight (20%)
Leads work performed by department clinical staff: RN’s, LPN’s, MA’s, Scribes. Coaches the team by guiding, directing, motivating, and mediating conflict resolution.
Resource nurse for dealing with staff and physician issues daily. Liaisons between physicians, clinical staff, and patients.
Directs patient flow problems as needed. Handles patient complaints during patient visits in the office.
Insures continuity and appropriateness of nursing care during all office hours on duty and acts as a resource regarding clinical issues of patient care. Supervises the daily staff assignments and re-assigns based on acuity, volume of patients, and staffing needs.
Process improvement and QA (10%)
Seeks opportunities to improve or enhance nursing and leadership skills through membership on safety or continuous quality improvement committees, or other special projects within the clinic.
Qualifications- Current license to practice in the State of Illinois as a professional Nurse
- CPR
- ACLS
- OCN Preferred
- 2-3 years preferred
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
