Position

Staff RN - Schaumberg - Neurology

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Hours:
  
  Monday–Thursday 8:00 am–5:00 pm;
  Friday 8:00 am–2:00 pm.
• Location:
  
  Schaumberg, IL, with travel as needed to surrounding sites.

Base pay range: $27.00–$38.50 per hour, with pay determined by skill, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.

• Under general supervision, provides high quality support to physicians in meeting the medical needs of the patient.
• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for physicians; takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, and ensures medical chart and lab test results are available and complete.
• Performs telephone triage, patient education, and handling of physician phone calls and pharmacy calls; may assist by arranging appointments, hospital tests, or admissions.
• Administers immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed; records and documents all such activities in the chart.
• Assists physician with procedures as necessary.
• Cleans and stocks all patient examination rooms; cleans and prepares instruments for procedures; maintains a list of needed medical supplies.
• Completes paperwork such as ordering lab tests, x‑rays, school/work notes, etc.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment; checks and restocks medication cabinet as necessary.
• Responds to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient.
• Reports all test results to the patient as directed by the physician.
• Performs OSHA controls as required and assists in performing narcotic counts.
• Performs other projects and duties related to department objectives.
• Must be able to get along with others, be a team player, accept constructive criticism from your supervisor, and follow work rules.
• Utilizes current nursing practices to provide patient care while focusing on patient needs and exemplifying service excellence, care, respect, and cooperation; functions as a patient advocate by being the initial contact for patient‑related issues.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Current Illinois RN licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Preference for a minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinical or hospital setting, but new graduates may be considered under specific circumstances.
