Cook

Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for a full time Cook. $1,000 Sign-on Bonus paid out after 90 days.

• Adherence to all sanitation and food handling protocols.
• Preparation of food in accordance with sanitary regulations and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assisgned pre-meal preparatin.
• Assurance that food is prepared in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
• Maintenance of all appropriate documentation of temperature charts and similar records according to established HACCP protocols.
• Appropriate distribution of all production on time and quantity necessary.
• Maintains safe and secure work environment, uses safety devices.
• Development, in coordination with the Sous Chef/Manager of new menu items and recipes
• Notification to Sous Chef/Manager of inventory requirements in a timely fashion.
• Assists in direction of kitchen staff.
• Maintenance of confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure residents' rights and employee confidentiality are protected.
• Assurance that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Adherence to all safety policies and procedures of Encore Village and regulatory authorities.
• Proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established procedures.
• Attendance and participation in in-service training programs.
• Assurance that food preparation and storage areas are maintained in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.

• Must have a state sanitation certificate.
• Serve Safe certification preferred.

• Knowledge of batch cooking and general use of standardized recipes.
• Knowledge of sanitation, food borne illness, and cross-contamination policies and procedures.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be able to follow written instructions.
• Must be able to work overtime, holidays, weekends as assigned.
• Must be a detail oriented person and be able to perform duties with great accuracy each day.
