Encore Village is currently hiring for a Weekend Café Associate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reports to Property on time and in proper uniform.
  • Stocks area with appropriate par levels of all items and complete appropriate paperwork for said pars.
  • Responsible for stocking the area with proper smallware’s/condiments, etc.
  • Maintains full knowledge of all items available at the outlet.
  • Meets and greets guests with a friendly and professional manner in accordance to set standards.
  • Communicates with residents, guests and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Responsible for sweeping & mopping the floor in assigned area.
  • Reports to daily pre-shift meetings for review of the day’s activities, groups in house and, menus.
  • Will maintain personal appearance & hygiene in accordance to set policy & procedure.
  • Assigned daily shift duties are to be thoroughly completed and then inspected by the shift manager at the close of each shift.
  • Tables are to be bussed and sanitized in accordance with set policy & procedure.
  • Converses with guests and remembers to use the names of repeat guests.
  • Moves quickly with good balance.
  • Takes food orders with a smile in person/over the phone or via company provided software
  • Assists in completing/ delivering order
  • Proficient in cash register use/handling moneys and credit cart machines
  • Able to utilize company provided POS system
  • Participates in proper sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Maintains full knowledge of service standards.
  • Reports any maintenance problems or other problem areas to designated leader.
  • Removes refuse in accordance with set standards.
  • Follows proper sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the storage areas, tools, equipment, carts and other areas/items as directed by Supervisor or Manager on duty.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. Tasks and responsibilities may be added or revised based on the volume of business and the need for the work to be completed at the present time.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical

Activities:
  • Constantly standing, walking, talking, hearing, reaching with hands and arms, tasting, and smelling.
  • Frequently bending, squatting, reaching, feeling, grasping, crouching, crawling, and kneeling.
  • Occasionally sitting, twisting, climbing stairs, ladders, or other climbing or balancing.
  • Frequently withstand warm to hot temperatures.
  • Use large and small food preparation and service equipment.
Range of Motion:
  • Constantly being able to move from shoulder and above; waist to shoulder; and waist and below.
Weight Lifting Requirements:
  • Being able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Vision Requirements:
  • Frequently looking at menus and banquet event orders, utilizing peripheral and depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus and see colors.
Environmental Exposure:
  • Constantly being exposed to chemical hazards.
  • Occasionally being exposed to body fluids/blood and required to operate equipment.
Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:
  • Previous café/bistro/food service experience preferred.
  • Any related customer service-oriented experience MAY be considered.
Education:
  • High school or GED preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Good communication skills; must be able to demonstrate effective reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills.
  • Must be a detail-oriented person and be able to perform duties with great accuracy each day.
  • Must demonstrate computer proficiency skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned.
  • Must be able to interface with people at all levels and with residents in a positive and professional manner.
Other

Qualifications:
  • Full understanding of sanitation, food borne illness, and cross-contamination policies and procedures
  • Full understanding of cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials
  • Awareness of right-to-know issues
  • Full understanding and use of H.A.C.C.P. protocols
  • Full understanding of proper small wares handling
  • Full understanding of residents’ rights
  • Full understanding of departmental policies & procedures
  • Training in CPR and Heimlich maneuver
