Position Overview

The Director of Security is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of physical corporate security for the company, ensuring the safety of employees, assets, and facilities. This role involves strategic planning, risk assessment, policy development, crisis response, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a secure working environment.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the company's comprehensive security strategy and programs including physical site security, incident response, executive protection, investigations, travel and event security, and threat management.
  • Lead the security team, manage budgets, and report regularly to executive leadership.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate security risks across the Company’s domestic and international physical locations (i.e., offices, data centers, distribution centers), personnel, and company operations.
  • Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and threat analyses.
  • Manage security systems, access controls, CCTV, surveillance, and alarm systems for all company locations.
  • Oversee security vendor contracts and security personnel (internal and third‑party).
  • Operate in a key role working with stakeholders on security crisis management including incident response planning and coordination during emergencies or security breaches, ensuring continuity protocols.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce security policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Lead or assist in security investigations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory security requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and implement security awareness training programs for all staff.
  • Collaborate closely with Facilities, IT, Information Security, Business Continuity, Event Planning, HR, Legal, and Compliance teams.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Foster a culture of safety and security throughout the organization.
  • Travel up to 25% to corporate locations and key events as determined.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Experience working in a leadership role in a multi‑site, global organization.
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques and tools.
  • A strong network of corporate and government security contacts and intelligence resources. This includes local and federal law‑enforcement intelligence community.
  • Leadership experience in crisis management and business resilience programs.
  • Experience in executive protection, investigation, guard force management, physical security, event security, and threat management.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and decision‑making skills.
