Job DescriptionMechanic – Collision Shop
The mechanic in the collision shop performs any and all general maintenance required to repair vehicles assigned for repairs, including:
- Diagnostic & Electrical Repairs
- Mounting, Balancing, and Alignment
- Suspension Work (overhaul suspension if needed)
- Airbag Checks and Replacement
- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Inspect and identify equipment/vehicles in need of repair.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plan repair work using equipment manuals, following OEM specifications.
- Perform general repairs, diagnostic/electrical repairs, mount/balance/alignment, suspension, and airbag work.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and buildings as assigned.
- Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
- Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- ASE certification and prior training, or new graduate with some training.
- Related experience preferred.
- On‑job training can be offered in some opportunities.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior workers.
- Knowledge of general repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Diagnostic & electrical repairs.
- Mount, balance, & alignment.
- Suspension work and overhaul of suspension if needed.
- Airbag checks and repair/replacement of airbags.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
