Winter Services Skid Steer & Plow Truck Operator – Regional Parking Lots

Apply to join Arctic Snow and Ice Control as a Winter Services Skid Steer & Plow Truck Operator for regional parking lots. This role is integral to ensuring parking lots are safely cleared after every storm.

Pay

Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $35.00/hr.

Actual pay will be based on skills and experience; discuss with recruiter.

Service Area

Chicagoland, SE Wisconsin, and NW Indiana. Sites include Waukegan, Schaumburg, Melrose Park, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Rockford, Northbrook, Oak Brook, Bolingbrook, Naperville, Joliet, Orland Park, Olympia Fields, and Frankfort. Your home address may be requested to place you near a site.

Responsibilities
  • Execute parking lot plowing based on dispatch/foreman instructions.
  • Apply salt, shovel, and support walkway treatment when directed.
  • Verify fuel status at the start and end of each event; use onsite fuel cells when available and complete daily fuel logs.
  • Maintain a clean cab free of trash and debris.
  • Report incidents or accidents to your foreman immediately.
  • Inspect equipment condition, prioritize safety, and promptly address maintenance needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience in commercial snow removal or operating heavy equipment.
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.; comfortable shoveling and salting walks as needed.
  • Maintains a clean driving record; CDL required if applicable.
  • Willing to complete a National Safety Council defensive driving course if required.
  • Proficient in Skid Steer operation.

During winter weather events, the team responds to assignments from dispatch and field foremen, prioritizing fast, safe parking lot clearance and precise documentation. Core expectations include cab cleanliness, timely fuel logging, and immediate incident reporting.
