Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join a busy healthcare organization in Schenectady, New York. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume setting, communicates effectively with vendors, and can maintain accuracy while handling routine financial transactions. You will become part of a stable team environment that values reliability, efficiency, and a respectful approach to internal and external partners.

Responsibilities:

- Process a high volume of invoices with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring all entries are recorded correctly in the accounts payable system.

- Review and assign appropriate coding to invoices before submission, maintaining consistency with departmental accounting practices.

- Communicate with vendors regarding payment questions, invoice status, and account concerns in a detail-oriented and service-focused manner.

- Support check run activities and help verify that payments are prepared according to established schedules and procedures.

- Enter financial data into Med Series 4 and assist with accounts payable-related record maintenance and documentation.

- Partner with the accounts payable team and accounting staff to resolve discrepancies, research issues, and keep daily workflow moving efficiently.

- Contribute to departmental support during the planned transition to Oracle Fusion by maintaining accurate records and assisting with related process tasks as needed. Requirements - Prior experience in accounts payable, including invoice entry and payment processing.

- Working knowledge of invoice coding and general accounts payable procedures.

- Ability to manage repetitive data entry with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.

- Experience supporting check runs and handling invoice processing from receipt through payment preparation.

- Comfortable working collaboratively within a quiet, productivity-focused office setting.

- Proficiency with accounting systems and basic computer applications; experience with Med Series 4 is helpful.
