The New York Post delivers the best in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture with wit, irreverence, and authority. Over the past 225+ years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.

We are looking for a driven, fearless Senior Reporter to join our News Features team, focused on high-quality, high-impact investigations, exclusives and deep dives into current events. Our goal is to drive the news rather than just following what everyone else is doing — and to expose the unexpected sides of front-page hot topics.

To excel in this role, you need a proven track record of producing in-depth, multi-source stories that have moved the cultural needle. We want someone bursting with inspired ideas.

Responsibilities:

Break exclusives, identifying and producing angles that others miss

Turn around high quality investigative pieces on tight timelines when breaking news demands it.

You should be equally comfortable chasing enterprise investigative projects and jumping into fast-breaking developments, always finding the sharpest angle and the most compelling way to tell the story

Pitch fresh ideas multiple times a week — staying ahead of the curve and also creatively reacting to the news cycle

Maintain the highest standards in reporting, ensuring accuracy and an understanding of journalistic ethics and legal standards (including source protection, verification and libel and defamation)
This position involves some domestic travel

Qualifications:

5+ years of newsroom experience, with a strong focus on features writing and breaking exclusives

Ability to produce sparkling, thorough and accurate copy on deadlineA tenacious attitude and hunger to land the big getsA deep curiosity about everything from true crime to Hollywood, tech to wealth, politics to education, including national affairs and only in New York stories — and the power players in all these worldsA bright, clean writing voice and nimble talent for picking up the signature Post attitude and style

An instinctive knack for getting anyone to talk and the ability to verify what they sayAt least five years of writing experience at a publication, including long-form features and interviews

Preferred Qualifications:

An understanding of and ability to locate court filings and financial, business and real estate records to support exclusive reporting

On-camera and/or social content creator experience

The New York Post adheres to an on-site work model (subject to change based on business needs). The shift schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.

Base Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000

We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.

For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
