SPORTIME's 20 club locations most recently expanded to include the iconic Port Washington Tennis Academy, now SPORTIME Port Washington. SPORTIME currently offers 192 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 131 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester and in the NY Capital Region.

SPORTIME clubs are state-of-the-art, yet affordable, and feature the best tennis, pickleball, sports and camp facilities and programs, including the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) and SPORTIME Volleyball Club (VBC). SPORTIME clubs serve individuals of every age and athletic ability, 365 days a year. Eager Explorers Daycare at SPORTIME - we are a small daycare, licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), located within SPORTIME Schenectady, Eager Explorers is designed to serve preschool age children - our focus is on, and our expertise is in, their age-appropriate play, learning, development and FUN.

Our small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios allow for individual needs to be met within the classroom setting. We offer a diverse and comprehensive curriculum. Through our play based curriculum, our affectionate and loving staff ensures that our children are imparted with the knowledge to succeed. As a lead teacher, you will:

• Implement and develop lesson plans alongside the director
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Prepare materials/curriculum for lessons
• Prepare bulletin boards, cubbies, other organizational tools
• Maintain OCFS/NYS regulations that pertain to the individual classroom
• Support additional staff in the room
• Maintain knowledge of any and all NYS OCFS daycare regulations for classroom
• Encourage independence
• Conduct potty training when needed
• Supervise children
• Maintain ratios appropriate for the age group they're working with
• Communicate daily with parents and administrators
• Manage a small classroom team of teachers
• Work together as a team
• Close down the classrooms at the end of the night
• Participate in and lead required trainings throughout the year
• Engage in play with children

Qualifications:

• Ability to Multitask
• Listener and observer
• Managing a classroom using appropriate behavior techniques
• Creative
• Knowledge of curriculum planning materials and resources
• Minimum education:
  
  Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; CDA with 1 year of experience working with children under age of 13, or working towards education degree with 2 years of experience working with children under the age of 13
• Ability to pass a background check

COMPENSATION: $18 - $22 per hour depending on education and experience BENEFITS:

Health, dental and vision insurance
- Full-Time employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime's group health, dental and vision insurance plans on the first day of the month after they have worked 60 days. Premiums are deducted pre-tax from employees' gross pay;
Sportime contributes to the premiums of employees based upon gross pay thresholds.

401k Plan with employer match – Employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime's 401k retirement plan, with matching, after they have completed one year of continuous service, worked at least 1000 hours in such calendar or anniversary year, and are over 21 years old.
