Responsibilities As an Engineering Manager, you are responsible for all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge. In addition, you will:
Review construction plans and permits for contractual requirements and constructability Ensure that all phases of Engineering and all prerequisites (permitting, construction drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), Purchase Orders (POs), etc.) are tracked, monitored, and controlled, ensuring completion Provide notification when prerequisites are completed, and work can be assigned and transitioned to the next phase of execution Act as an advisor to the engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations Manage subcontracted engineering vendor Monitor project schedules, mitigating and/or justifying schedule deviations Ensure engineering quality from initiation to closeout and completion Coordinate with the Client to verify the quantity of work completed and document any deviation from work completed versus values in the BOM Lead weekly status meetings with the Client Coordinate with other internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with project requirements Provide engineering guidance on the construction of the outside plant fiber optics system Keep current on engineering trends and developments to recommend changes in program or design methods Qualifications
About You:
You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas Have 10 years of engineering experience with at least two years of management experience in utility systems or roadway design Have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field Able to review, understand, and contribute to project execution plans and schedules Possess strong teamwork and communication skills Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications Able to work within a PMO structure organization Able to manage subcontractors Have a good understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Have a valid driver's license Compensation of $80,000-$95,000 annually, depending on the experience.
