STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - Niskayuna, NY

JOB SUMMARY
The Structural Engineer supports construction and infrastructure projects within a project team environment at the Knolls Site. This role is responsible for defining project scope, supporting engineering design efforts, and coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure successful execution of facility and utility projects.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
The Structural Engineer will perform engineering assignments supporting construction and facility-related projects. Responsibilities include developing project scope with sponsors and assisting in the preparation of specifications, cost estimates, and design documentation.
The role involves reviewing engineering drawings and providing technical support during the construction phase. The engineer will support architectural and engineering firms in the development of concept designs, construction documents, and project estimates.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating with facility personnel, contractors, and internal project teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and smooth project execution.
WORK HOURS
A standard 40-hour work week is expected. Additional schedule requirements may be provided by the client.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Structural Engineering
- 5-10+ years of structural engineering experience
- Experience developing contract documents, engineering calculations, and cost estimates
- Knowledge of building codes and applicable standards
- Experience in construction administration (submittals, RFIs, inspections)
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Prior engineering consulting experience
