Position Overview

ACRT, Inc. is hiring a Transmission Work Planner. This role is full‑time and regular, located in Muskogee, Oklahoma (and adjacent areas). Applicants should have a background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or a related discipline and experience in these fields and the line of work.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines.
  • Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned tree clearance crews.
  • Discuss and negotiate line‑clearance crew access issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client utilities.
  • Focus on post‑inspection QA of tree work completed by tree contractors with Oklahoma Gas and Electric throughout Oklahoma.
  • Participate in weekend on‑call schedule once trained.
  • Manage a geographical area for all vegetation‑related activities, work independently, and coordinate with stakeholders, utility customers, and line‑clearance vendors.
  • Work with varied terrain and inclement weather, including evenings, nights, weekends, and overnight travel within Oklahoma.
  • Hike lengthy periods as required to access lines across the state.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2‑ or 4‑year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or a closely related field, OR 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field (e.g., right‑of‑way management, integrated vegetation management, nursery work, timber cutting).
  • Vegetation management experience preferred.
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, production‑oriented.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a geographical area.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multi‑tasking and strong time‑management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation

Pay ranges from $18.00 to $27.50 per hour, based on certifications and experience.
