NPI Delivery Bucket/Blade Aeromechanic Engineer

Our Sustainable Steam Solutions Engineering team develops and designs highly efficient turbo machines and seeks new talents to join. The NPI Delivery Bucket/Blade Aeromechanic Engineer within the Steam Turbine is responsible for designing and implementing both rotating and stationary bucket/blade technologies enabling world-class performance and reliability for steam turbines. This is a critical role requiring both system level knowledge of turbo machinery safety (overspeed) and detailed mechanical component expertise to design steam turbines for new customer orders and service upgrade opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities- Own steampath bucket/blade component design in execution of NPI, ITR, and factory/field support activities for new unit and aftermarket services customer orders
- Drive technology advancements from overall system, sub-system and component vantage points
- Lead appropriate engineering discussions to understand design details and processes to ensure designs are robust and meet all customer requirements.
- Follow rigorous NPI and software development tollgate processes from conceptual design through final validation across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations
- Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities, i.e. lifting and transportation
- Demonstrate excellence in applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep. Perform finite element analysis using (ANSYS)
- Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Product Definition / Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivery for our customers
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college
- Some experience in designing turbo machinery components
- Proficiency in English

- Excellent communication skills and intercultural awareness
- Demonstrated clear thinker, with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems
- Experience in Steam Turbine component design such as ST steam path or stationary components, design process & procedures
- Some familiarity with the manufacturing processes such as casting, fabrication, machining, and factory assembly/ testing practices, specifically as applied to power generation equipment
