As an FPGA Design Engineer in GE Vernova's Engineering & Design team, you will architect, implement, and verify FPGA-based control, protection, and communication functions for advanced energy and grid systems. You'll develop RTL using VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog, drive simulation and timing closure, and integrate designs with power electronics and grid protection platforms. Working in a mission-driven, collaborative culture, you'll partner with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative solutions that accelerate the energy transition and modernize critical power infrastructure worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and verify FPGA logic for grid and energy conversion systems using VHDL/Verilog/System
  • Verilog.
  • Develop RTL architectures, perform simulation, timing analysis, and optimization for reliability and performance.
  • Integrate FPGA designs with control, protection, and communication interfaces in energy and utility applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements and system architectures.
  • Conduct lab bring-up, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and debugging of FPGA-based platforms.
  • Document designs, verification plans, and test results following engineering and safety standards.
  • Support design reviews, continuous improvement, and design-for-manufacturability initiatives.
  • Contribute to innovation for next-generation low-carbon and grid modernization solutions.
