About the Role:

Falcon

X is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our Global Finance Team. This role ensures the seamless operation of accounting processes in support of scalable growth within the cryptocurrency industry.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Trading Pillar:
    Direct a team focused on day-to-day operations and month-end close for spot trading, DeFi, and market-making work streams.
  • Digital Asset Accounting:
    Execute accounting for complex trading strategies, including Mark-to-Market (MTM) valuations, cost-basis tracking, and realized/unrealized gains/losses analysis.
  • DeFi & Smart Contract Oversight:
    Manage accounting treatment for DeFi activities, including liquidity provisioning, yield farming, and interactions with various decentralized protocols.
  • Market Making Operations:
    Oversee financial reporting for market-making activities, ensuring accurate tracking of inventory, flow, and spread-based revenue.
  • Systems & Automation:
    Partner with Data and Engineering teams to optimize the sub-ledger and ensure seamless data flow from proprietary trading platforms into ERP.
  • Reconciliation Leadership:
    Drive resolution of high-volume, unstructured reconciliations across exchanges, liquidity providers, and on-chain wallets.
  • Technical Policy:
    Design and implement robust internal controls and accounting policies for new trading products and DeFi initiatives.
  • Audit & Regulatory Support:
    Act as primary point of contact for auditors and regulators regarding trading pillar queries, providing clear technical explanations for crypto-native transactions.
  • ERP

    Experience:

    Hands-on knowledge of working/operating in an ERP environment (e.g., Net Suite). Assist with system integrations and optimizations.
  • Ad hoc financial information requests and special projects as assigned.
  • Support internal and external audits related to specific areas of responsibility.
  • Foster open-mindedness and proactive problem-solving; adapt to rapidly changing priorities with agility and flexibility; build cross-functional relationships to drive collaborative success.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Accounting or related field. CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in month-end close, financial reporting, consolidation, and audit.
  • Deep understanding of financial instruments, derivatives, and spot trading mechanics.
  • Hands-on experience with blockchain technology, wallet mechanics, and the DeFi ecosystem.
  • High proficiency in Net Suite (or similar ERP) and G-Suite.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to handle multi-currency accounting for complex, multi-entity structures across time zones.
  • Strong work ethic and team player.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with accounting, financial reporting, and ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite).
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and analytics tools experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in cryptocurrency (bonus but not required).
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and broker-dealer industry experience.

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $157,000 and $180,000 in the New York City area. This range is based on information available at posting time. The role may be eligible for additional compensation such as performance-based bonuses, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation will depend on location, skillset, experience, qualifications, and level of hire.
