Food Production Teammate FT - Commissary
Supports accurate, efficient, and safe packaging of ready-to-eat (RTE) products in the commissary. Ensures finished food items are properly portioned, sealed, labeled, and prepared for distribution while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and sanitation.
Pack RTE items according to batch specifications, packaging requirements, and customer expectations.
Operate basic packaging equipment (e.g., sealers, labelers, portioners) in accordance with safety and food handling protocols.
Verify product weights, portion sizes, labeling, and packaging integrity.
Assemble packaging components and ensure availability at workstations.
Assist with final boxing, palletizing, and staging of finished goods for shipment.
Maintain clean and organized packaging stations and adhere to sanitation and allergen control procedures.
Complete packaging logs, lot tracking forms, and cleaning checklists as required.
Communicate product discrepancies, equipment issues, or production delays to supervisors promptly.
Support prep and ingredient staging as needed.
Follow all GMPs, PPE requirements, and food safety protocols at all times.
Report any food safety, quality, or GMP concerns to Supervisors or FSQA immediately.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. No prior experience required; commissary or food production experience is a plus. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete basic documentation. Willingness to work in cold, wet, or variable temperature environments. Dependable attendance and positive team attitude required.
Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. Basic understanding of food handling and packaging standards. Effective communication and team collaboration. Commitment to safety and cleanliness.
Standing constant 5-8 hours. Walking constant 5-8 hours. Lifting frequent 3-5 hours up to 50lbs. Pushing/pulling frequent 3-5 hours up to 50lbs. Bending constant 5-8 hours. Twisting constant 5-8 hours. Grasping/finger movement & dexterity- left/right hands constant 5-8 hours. Exposure to hot environment frequent 3-5 hours. Exposure to cold environment frequent 3-5 hours. Pivoting frequent 3-5 hours.
Manual and semi-automatic packaging tools. Heat sealers, vacuum sealers, label applicators. Ingredient scales and portioning tools. Pallet jacks and material handling equipment. Cleaning and sanitation tools. PPE use (gloves, smock, goggles, etc...)
