As a Post Doctoral Researcher in AI team, you will work with GE Vernova Advanced Research, GEV Business, and external customers to build and execute strategic research and development programs focused in AI and Machine Learning for energy ecosystem.

You will design, develop, and apply innovative AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and foundation models, to tackle complex challenges in the energy sector. Your work will span the entire research spectrum, from fundamental theoretical and empirical investigations to prototyping and solution development. You will have the opportunity to define and work on diverse projects, including power generation, renewable energy, electric grids, robotics, and manufacturing, in collaboration with GE Vernova's business units and a broad network of researchers across disciplines and domains.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with teams of researchers on new and continuing projects
• Develop software solutions for the application of Machine Learning to medical and industrial data
• Implement and analyze prototypes and solutions for real-world problems
• Employ software libraries, tools, and practices to implement efficient, scalable, and reusable solutions
• Create intellectual property by writing invention disclosures and filing patents

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Master's degree with minimum 2 years' experience or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields with a focus on Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence
• Experience in one or more of these R&D topics: (a) Training domain-specific large language models (LLM), (b) Development of time-series or multi-modal foundation models, and (c) Building and leveraging knowledge graphs for reasoning and memory.
• Demonstrated ability to write Python code
• Candidate must be willing to travel a minimum of 2 weeks per year
• Must have work authorization for the US
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY

Desired Characteristics:

• Ph.D. focusing on new advancements in Machine Learning
• Experience in writing grant proposals and participating in the execution of grant-supported research
• Deep expertise in one or more of: LLM or multi-modal model training (text, image, etc.), Knowledge graphs
• Contribution to public domain codebases and/or significant Git Hub portfolio to demonstrate mastery and impact
• Clear communication style to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
