Master Fitter​/Tailor

Job Description

Salary Range: $37.22 - $46.54 per hour*

The Alteration Staff will be part of the tailoring team, providing customer service and tailoring expertise as required.

• Model all Saks Fifth Avenue Customer Service Principles.
• Focus on achieving and exceeding individual performance and productivity goals.
• Maintain a consistent high level of customer service by creating and developing excellent customer relationships.
• Follow all Saks Fifth Avenue and alteration workroom policies and tailor procedures.
• Make alteration decisions during customer fittings using expertise.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Support company/store and department initiatives.
• Perform ad hoc responsibilities as needed.

• Minimum 3 years of fitting and tailoring experience in high-end merchandise.
• Ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of garments.
• Strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double face, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes, etc. (desired and a benefit).
• Proficiency in standard sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment.
• Experience using specialty machines: double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, leather.
• Knowledge of the alterations industry including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
