Location & TravelLocation: We are a remote team, however residency in Texas or Florida is required for this role and portfolio.
Travel: Approximately 20% for client meetings and industry conferences.
What You'll Do Develop Strategic Client Partnerships- Proactively prospect and cultivate new relationships through strategic outreach, industry research, networking, conferences, referrals, and targeted account development.
- Build long-term relationships with hiring leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Expand business within new, existing, and former client organizations.
- Identify future hiring opportunities across departments and campuses.
- Develop strategic account plans to deepen institutional partnerships.
- Generate new opportunities through referrals, networking, and relationship building.
- Serve as a Trusted Advisor.
- Understand each client's organizational priorities, culture, and hiring goals.
- Maintain regular communication with clients throughout active searches.
- Partner with internal recruiting teams to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Help navigate communication challenges and strengthen client relationships.
- Conduct quality check-ins during searches to ensure client satisfaction.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
- Track relationship activity and account development within CRM.
- Share market intelligence and hiring trends with leadership.
- Represent Another Source at higher education conferences and professional associations.
- Confidently network, initiate conversations, and create meaningful follow-up opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education or selling professional services into higher education is required. You understand how colleges and universities make decisions, build consensus, and establish long-term partnerships.
- Proven success in business development, strategic account management, relationship management, executive search, consulting, or another relationship-driven professional services environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, you are a true "super communicator" who builds trust quickly and creates authentic relationships.
- Experience engaging and influencing executive-level leaders.
- Strong emotional intelligence, curiosity, and active listening skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities, think strategically, and develop long-term client relationships.
- Comfortable networking, attending conferences, and initiating conversations with new contacts.
- Experience managing a sales or relationship pipeline using CRM software (Hub Spot preferred).
