Entry-Level Electronic Repair Technician
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Electronic Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing electronic assemblies and circuit boards. This position requires fine soldering skills, the ability to work with small components under magnification, and a willingness to learn through hands-on training. Prior experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities- Perform assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and circuit boards.
- Solder and desolder small electronic components, including surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole parts, using a magnifying glass or microscope.
- Use multimeters and other test equipment to diagnose electrical and electronic issues.
- Read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality and compliance with company standards.
- Document repairs, test results, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety procedures.
- Assist technicians with complex repairs and learn new repair techniques through on-the-job training.
- Ability to read schematics.
- Ability to solder small components accurately and neatly.
- Experience using a multimeter for voltage, resistance, and continuity testing preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing detailed work under magnification.
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of electronics and electronic components preferred.
- Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job training.
On-the-job training available. The work site is climate-controlled and well-organized. Enjoy working in a quiet environment with a smaller team. The company offers team-building activities, such as cookouts, raffles, and outings.
Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, and Friday from 5:30 am to 1:30 pm. Overtime opportunities are available, usually worked on Saturdays or before/after the shift. The environment is metal-free, and adherence to safety procedures is essential.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Schenectady, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.60 - $20.60/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
