Under general supervision:
- Read and understand system prints and schematics.
- Layout, design, install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, test and repair pipes and fittings of production material, including but not limited to: generators and rotors, mechanical utility piping systems, chillers that include hot water, chilled water, steam, compressed air, sewer, chemicals, fuel oil, gases and other related systems following local and state codes. In this role, you will be required to move and work in confined spaces, up and down ladders and to work from ladders, scaffolding and aerial lift platforms.
Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes.
Installs & repairs pipes, fixtures, and valves, for water, gas, steam, and air systems.
Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
Assembles fittings and valves for installation.
Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed.
Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary.
Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters.
Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipe fitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems.
Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.
Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.
Analyzes problems and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair.
Work at heights in scissor lifts and boom lifts
Operate fork trucks for material movement and unloading of deliveries
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Help identify materials and parts for job execution when needed
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Minimum RequirementsMust have at least one of the following:
AAS degree in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology
AOS degree in HVAC or Construction & Maintenance
Military Training Course in related fields
Journeyman Steamfitter
Desired Requirements3 years' work experience in a Manufacturing Facility (with references)
3 years' proven experience in Commercial HVAC service and installation.
Pipe Welding certifications
Licensed Plumber in NYS
5+ Years in a manufacturing facility
Experience with underground piping
Backflow preventer certification
EPA Refrigerant certification
The hourly base pay range for this position is $37.11 to $45.64. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases.
