Job Summary
Full‑time childcare educator supervising children, leading lesson plans, training assistants, and ensuring a safe learning environment in accordance with Catholic education principles and DFPS regulations.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Supervise children at all times, maintaining a secure, safe environment for play and learning.
- Supervise and train assistants on policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Create and implement lesson plans.
- Complete necessary classroom reports and prepare daily reports for each child.
- Provide positive feedback to parents and communicate effectively with students, parents, and professionals.
- Adhere to DFPS proceedings and school presentation requirements.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality regarding school matters.
- Model Catholic teachings and support the school’s mission.
- Participate in dismissal procedures, ensuring each child leaves with an authorized adult.
- Attend staff meetings, ongoing training, and archived services as required.
- Manage CPR/First Aid responsibilities and maintain an updated kit and records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
- Maintain accurate records according to school policy.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the work environment and instructional planning.
- Work well with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Follow directions and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Possess proficient technology skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to collaborate within a school community.
- Skill in multitasking and using appropriate technology.
- Critical thinking and planning abilities.
- Motivating and engaging students in the learning process.
- Organizing and presenting information clearly.
- Requirement to work some nights and weekends.
- Management of moderate to high stress levels.
- Standard school operational conditions.
- Lift or carry supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment.
- Maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger.
- Perform daily tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and talking.
- Use computer keyboarding, writing, and reading.
- Monitor students in various noisy, active, or inclement environments.
- Adapt to a continuously changing, fast‑paced environment with a child‑focused approach.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CDA credential preferred.
- At least 18 years old.
- One (1) year of experience in a childcare setting.
- Meet state education criteria.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Team player.
- Reliable transportation.
- CPR and First Aid certification (obtainable during training).
- Pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
