* * Full-Time/Regular Position Summary Prepare portions of contract proposal estimates for any discipline. Perform take-offs on systems, material and equipment according to applicable project plans and specifications. Position Details
* Prepare proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
* Attend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs.
* Prepare estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work, using FastPIPE or FastDUCT or McCormick and/or Con Est(Intellibid) estimating software.
* Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, software uploads, etc.
* For electrical, perform at a minimum Estimator 1 take-off items and estimating take-off for switch gear, distribution, cable tray, UPS/PDU, emergency generators/ATS and associated feeders.
* Ensure accuracy and applicability of data in final project files.
* Support other department personnel as required; may include preparing estimates in other disciplines.
* May review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
* May provide support to field operations regarding mechanical estimates.
* Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.
* Implement pricing updates and version updates to FastEST. Provide assistance in the utilization of FastEST and collaborate with Training to facilitate training for others.
* Travel Requirements: < 10% Qualifications
* Proficiency with FastPIPE and/or FastDUCT or similar estimating software
* Working knowledge of multiple disciplines, estimating techniques and cost control
* Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
* Ability to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlines
* High school degree or equivalent; some technical training or advanced education preferred
