Job Summary
Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Methodist Hospital | Specialty & Transplant. Your role focuses on providing safe, high‑quality care to complex patients, including sepsis, DKA, stroke/seizures, liver and renal disease, respiratory failure, and more. You will work with a collaborative team and utilize state‑of‑the‑art technology and resources.
About the Unit• 20 bed Medical ICU
• Patient‑to‑nurse ratio 2:1
• Individualized orientation with dedicated preceptors
• Specialized educational classes and mentorship programs
• Doctors invested in staff development
- Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to deliver safe, independent nursing care.
- Collaborate with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes.
- Provide clear communication, confidence, and professionalism, engaging in unit and organizational activities.
- Demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and serve as a resource to the patient care team.
- Assume accountability for delivering quality nursing care and promoting a positive image of nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program (diploma, associate, or baccalaureate).
- Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or a Multi‑State Compact License (require Texas RN license within 90 days of hire).
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
