Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health and a leading healthcare provider in San Antonio, is seeking an experienced Neuro ICU Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this highly specialized role, you will provide comprehensive, evidence‑based care to critically ill patients with complex neurological conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, post‑neurosurgical cases, seizures, and other acute neuro emergencies.

Working in a technologically advanced Neuro Intensive Care Unit, you will perform continuous neurological assessments, manage ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring equipment, administer high‑risk medications and titratable drips, coordinate complex care plans, and respond rapidly to changes in patient status.

You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team that includes neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and rehabilitation specialists to deliver exceptional, patient‑centered care. Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized care plans, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, providing thorough patient and family education on neurological conditions and recovery expectations, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. You will play a key role in supporting stroke protocols, participating in quality and safety initiatives, and following evidence‑based guidelines and hospital policies to optimize patient outcomes.
