Position Summary
Responsible for safely and efficiently dropping off/picking up materials from various vendors and construction sites.
Position Details- Drives delivery trucks to job sites and company destinations. Properly secures and straps down materials safe delivery.
- Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, stages, transports tools, supplies and equipment by hand or using dolly and/or forklift.
- Maintains vehicle cleanliness and reports any mechanical issues or accidents promptly.
- Maintains work area in clean and organized fashion.
- Plans efficient routes and ensures proper and safe stocking of vehicle.
- Maintains accurate delivery documentation and ensures all paperwork is completed properly.
- Performs daily pre-trip inspection of vehicle. Maintains vehicle and equipment maintenance history.
- May provide guidance to junior staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years relevant experience, flatbed experience is preferable
- Valid Class A Driver’s license
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move products using a pallet jack and/or forklift
- Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical projects and related tools and equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Good customer-service skills
- Strong attention to and respect for safety rules and regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in the warehouse and at the construction site
