Look beyond the numbers. Understand the project behind them.

At Mammoet, we are looking for a Project Controller who combines strong analytical thinking with curiosity about how complex projects work.

As a Project Controller within Europe Projects, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle from the kick off to the close out. You will take financial ownership of your project portfolio and work closely with Project Managers and stakeholders across Operations, Sales and Finance.

Your role goes beyond reporting what happened last month.

You will analyze what is driving project performance, challenge forecasts and assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and translate operational and commercial developments into their financial impact.

Our projects are complex, international and tangible. Across energy, offshore, renewables, infrastructure and industrial sectors, Mammoet provides engineered solutions for lifting, transporting and installing some of the world’s largest and most complex structures and components. As a Project Controller, you will have the opportunity to look beyond the numbers, understand the operations behind them and see how your insights contribute to the successful delivery of real-world projects.

WHAT

YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Take responsibility for the financial control of your project portfolio.
  • Monitor and analyze project costs, revenues, margins, cash flow and other key financial indicators.
  • Participate in preparing and reviewing project budgets and forecasts together with Project Managers.
  • Analyze project performance and understand the operational and commercial drivers behind financial deviations.
  • Act as a financial sparring partner to Project Managers and other stakeholders, constructively challenging assumptions and supporting informed decision making.
  • Identify, quantify and monitor project risks and opportunities and translate these into their potential financial and forecast impact.
  • Assess the financial impact of project developments, variations and other commercial matters.
  • Ensure reliable project financial information and investigate and resolve relevant inconsistencies.
  • Actively participate in project kick off meetings, periodic project reviews and project close outs.

Contribute to the further professionalization of Project Control through improvements in forecasting, reporting, processes and data analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Visit project and operational sites to develop a deeper understanding of the activities behind the financial results.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED

A strong Project Controller doesn't stop at:

“The project margin has decreased.”

You want to understand:

Why has it decreased? What has changed operationally? Is the current forecast still realistic? What risks or opportunities are we not yet seeing? And what should we do about it?

You also bring:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Project Control, Business Control, Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Control or another analytical role.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex information quickly.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership.
  • The confidence to constructively challenge assumptions, forecasts and inconsistencies.
  • The ability to move comfortably between financial detail and the bigger picture.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different disciplines and cultures.
  • An interest in projects, technology and/or operational environments and curiosity about how our projects are executed.
  • Strong Excel skills, experience with SAP, Power BI or similar systems is an advantage.
  • Professional proficiency in English. Dutch is an advantage but not a requirement.

If this reflects how you think and you are excited by the opportunity to turn project complexity into insight and impact, we would like to meet you.

WHAT YOU’LL GET
  • A competitive gross monthly salary.
  • Excellent secondary employment…
